Markdown is the lingua franca of AI
Every modern AI tool reads and writes markdown. Every modern team writes in something else. Closing that gap — without forcing one side to change tools — is the whole product.
ContextWell is the collaboration layer for AI-native teams. A real-time markdown editor, a knowledge base, and an MCP server that plugs into every modern AI tool — Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, custom agents.
We started ContextWell because every team we talked to had the same problem: AI tools speak markdown, the rest of the team writes in Google Docs, and every AI-assisted task became a copy-paste round-trip that lost comments, history, and intent. We're closing that gap — without forcing your engineers out of Cursor or your marketing team into a code editor.
Every modern AI tool reads and writes markdown. Every modern team writes in something else. Closing that gap — without forcing one side to change tools — is the whole product.
We don't sell you AI. You bring your own model, your own plan, your own keys. We never sit in the middle of your token bill, and we have no incentive to lock you to one vendor.
Engineers can already wire markdown into Cursor or Claude Code. Marketing, design, and ops can't. So we built a real-time editor on top of the same files agents are reading.
Everything you write is plain markdown. Export the whole workspace as .md files anytime. We'd rather earn the renewal than trap the data.
We're a distributed team across the US and Europe, currently in private beta with a handful of design partners. If you want to be among the first to put real workflows on top of ContextWell, get in touch — we'd love to hear what you're trying to do.
